The FATF is the abbreviation for the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering. Also known as the Financial Action Task Force or GAFI, it was established in 1989 in response to the Economic Declaration held in Paris. The secretariat of the FATF is therefore located in Paris.

The FATF is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to combating money laundering and the financing of terrorist organizations. Countries from around the world participate in mutual examinations to ensure compliance with the FATF recommendations, which serve as international standards for law enforcement, criminal legislation, and financial regulation against money laundering.

Assistance to non-participating countries in promoting anti-money laundering and other measures is also part of our activities. We formulate and review FATF Recommendations appropriately in accordance with the trends of the times and necessary measures.
