A double card is a type of credit card issued in partnership between a credit card company and a retailer such as a supermarket, and is also called a co-branded card. The issued double card can be used not only at the affiliated stores, but also at any card participating stores nationwide.

The main purpose of issuing a double card is a marketing strategy. Both the card company and its partners grant their respective enhanced services and benefits on one card, thus providing a double benefit to the member.

For the card companies and their partners, the advantages are that they can promote customer acquisition and retention with attractive services, as well as analyze customer attributes by accumulating data.

For this reason, many of the double card partners are distribution companies, hotels, railroads, airlines, and other companies that serve a large number of customers.
